So this morning I got back from Turin after a very lovely weekend with my other half (as some people say XD). If you have never been to Turin, i highly recommend it. It is located in the north-west (geographically speaking, not the celebrity… I know I’m feeling quite sarcastic today) of Italy and is one of those cities that makes you think how beautiful is the world that we live in. I call it my Little Paris because it’s buildings are very similar to Paris’s. Maybe it’s because Turin is pretty close to France or I’m sure there is a very good historical reason ( Turin was actually annexed to France in the ninteen century ) but wahtever the reason I’m just in love with this city so If you have the chance or you happen to find yourselves in Italy, visit Turin and then let me know what you think!
Anyways, yesterday the 8th of november signed a pretty important date for me because me and my boyfriend got together exactly 4 years and a half ago yesterday. So we had to celebrate and if you know me, what’s better than celebrating with celebratory cupcakes? Absolutely nothing. The best and sweetest part was that my boyfirend dind’t want me to make cupcakes, he wanted to bake them with me! Which I thought that it was such a fun and romantic thing to do together. So we basically went to the grocery store, bought the ingredients and started baking together.
Guys I honestly don’t know if these cupcakes came out this good because we truly made them with love this time or because my boyfriend helped me, but wao they turned out absolutely delicious! I managed to take a few pictures for you, even though not my usual perfectly staged pictures (unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me so I had to take them with my Iphone) but they didn’t turn out that bad after all. Here is the recipe 🙂
For the Oreo Cupcakes you will need:
Sift in a bowl the flour, cocoa powder, bicarbonate of soda, a pinch of salt and caster sugar. Add the soft butter, eggs and start mixing on a low speed. Once it starts to come together turn up the speed to medium and mix for 60 seconds. Lower the speed and add the milk and vanilla extract. Line a baking tray with paper cupcake cases and add one oreo cookie to the bottom of each case. Fill the cases with your mixture. Put them in the oven for 22 minutes at 170 C°.
For the chocolate ganache:
In a pan heat your cream until it boils. Put your chocolate on a pan over simmering water and let it melt. Once the chocolate is almost melted add your warm cream. Keep stirring until your chocolate is completely melted. Put in the fridge to cool. Once is cooled, beat the mixture until light and fluffy. Using a piping bag decorate your cupcakes with the chocolate ganache and top them off with half an Oreo Cookie.
