Oh yes, it’s that time again. Whenever it comes to baking i go completly nuts. But I’m sure you all know that by now. And yes, I am well aware that my last post was about baking as well. I just can’t help my self. This time I really wanted to do something different from my usual cake recipe. When I think about crumbles, the first thing that comes to my mind, besides the word crunchyness of course, is apples. There are so many recipes out there on how to make the perfect apple crumble. They serve it with ice cream, a berry sauce, maple syrup and a LOT more. But what about pears? No one really thinks about pears in recipes. It’s all about apple pies, apple crumbles etc etc. So this time I thought that I would give a little credit to this amazing fruit by doing a Chocolate, Ricotta and Pears Crumble! The recipe in it self is very very simple. I promise that it tastes absolutely delicious. If you serve it hot, I suggest putting a scoop of Vanilla ice cream onto the side of the plate. The cold ice cream mixed with warm pears will make your mouth wather.
Let me know if you try this recipe!
In a bowl stir the flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, eggs and baking soda. Using your hands, combine all the ingredients togheter. Rub the mixture in between your finger to form small crumbs. Butter and flour a 24 cm/9 inch ovenproof dish and cover it with 3/4 of the crumb mixture and set aside. In a bowl stir the Ricotta cheese until it forms a cream. Add the pears and chocolate chips. Stir until well combined. Spoon the pear mixture over the crumbs until the entire dish is covered. Sprinkle the remaining crumbs on top. Bake in the oven for 35/40 minutes at 180 C°/350 F°.
