DIY – Scented candles

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetBeing an extreme lover of candles, especially the Yankee Candles ones (I’ve talked about them in my “It’s blogmas time” post), I had to try to make my own candle. As a first attempt It wasn’t that bad. Although I’m not completely in love with the scent, I think it is a little too manly for me, I love the colour and the glass that I used as the candle holder. So I thought that you guys might be interested in how I made my own candle. I promise I’ll try to make more, with different scents, colours and jars. The next ones are definetly going to be more sofisticated. But for now, bare with me, until I find the perfect way to make them.

If you have any suggestions or any tips to make scented candles, please feel free to share them in the comments down below.

Here is how I made my Sandalwood scented candle:

You’ll need:

  • white candle
  • a few drops of essential oil
  • crayons
  • a candle wick

Method:

Put the candle into a pan over low heat. Stir until melted. Add a few drops of the essential oil and a small piece of crayon. You can choose whatever colour you may like. I choose a light blue. Take a glass and glue at the bottom the candle wick. Lay a stick over the edges of the glass. Wrap around it the end of the candle wick. Pour the liquid in the glass. Let it cool down overnight or until fully dry.
